Brandon has been working in the aerospace industry for the last 15 years with experience in engineering, business management, and strategic growth.
He started his aerospace career in 2004 at General Dynamics C4 Systems, as a Spacecraft Systems Engineer, supporting the Naval Satellite Operations Command (NAVSOC) at Point Mugu. He was part of a small team of engineers on contract to provide engineering support to the US Navy for their on-orbit satellites, which including all ground control operations, such as command & control, orbital maintenance, anomaly resolution, and data analysis.
In 2007, he transitioned from engineering to the business side of aerospace, when he accepted a business analyst position at Northrop Grumman Space Technology (formerly TRW) in Redondo Beach, CA. He spent 7 years supporting various space programs as a project control analyst. In 2014, he was selected for a 18-month rotation through a business development role, where he was responsible for planning and executing executive-level customer visits for Redondo Beach and El Segundo campuses.
After completing this assignment, he joined the Strategic Growth organization, which encompassed strategy, competitive intelligence, and sector M&A due diligence. It was in this role that Brandon realized his true passion was helping Northrop Grumman with their innovation pursuits by looking externally to what was happening at the time with the “New Space” movement and understand how the industry was rapidly changing around them. In 2016, he met Van and Francois from Starburst Accelerator, and he knew that Northrop Grumman had to partner with Starburst Accelerator in order to have their offering compliment his technology scouting efforts. Three years later, Northrop Grumman is still an active corporate partner with Starburst.
In 2018, Brandon left Northrop Grumman after 11 years to follow his passion for innovation and get involved on the startup side of the aerospace industry. He joined the Starburst team in July 2018, where he is responsible for developing new business in the US and maintaining active corporate client relationships.
Brandon holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from UCLA, as well as an MBA from Pepperdine University. He is bilingual in Spanish, and has held DoD and TS/SCI clearances.
