ASTRA, a New Starburst Accelerator, Will Support the Next Generation of Space Technology Companies

Starburst Aerospace, an Israeli aerospace accelerator that connects entrepreneurs with investors and government support, has announced the opening of its first cohort, ASTRA, which will be dedicated solely to startups developing new space technology. Tehiru Technologies, CrystalEn Semiconductor, and CSpace are the three startups chosen to participate.

Tehiru Technologies’ reusable and sustainable hybrid, modular, cost-effective air-launched rocket propulsion system incorporates electric landing. CrystalEn is working on a method that allows single-crystal diamonds to grow in order to create next-generation semiconductor materials. For public space observation and astrophysics research, CSpace is building a satellite-based public planetary observation centre using nanosatellite telescopes.

The startups will begin a 7-month program, which includes technical support in building their technologies, fundraising assistance, expert mentoring, and a 13-week bootcamp to prepare for their Seed round, as well as business introductions for pilot opportunities, access to a global network of space and aerospace industry leaders, academic labs, and investors.

ASTRA is a startup accelerator that runs in partnership with Israel Aerospace Industries, Shenkar Lab, and Starburst Aerospace. It aims to support early-stage startups turn their technology into a go-to-market product. ASTRA’s goal is to transform Israel into the Spactech Nation, by helping launch the next-generation of space technology ventures in Israel.
