Military.com features Pyrrhus Aeronautics: controlling drones from the rifle

Military.com published an in-depth feature on ASTRA portfolio company Pyrrhus Aeronautics and its flagship product LADRS (Laser Aiming & Drone Remote System), which lets soldiers control drones directly from a rifle-mounted device instead of a handheld controller.

Co-founder and CEO Elad Amar, an IDF infantry veteran and active reservist, told Military.com the system keeps “soldiers on the trigger instead of a joystick.” The device matches the form factor of a standard PEQ-15 aiming module at roughly 286 grams, integrates a laser designator, and cuts drone operator training from hundreds of hours to under one. It has been shaped by feedback from around 100 warfighters and operationally deployed in Gaza.

The company is developing a second, classified product with a major defense prime and preparing its next capital raise.
