Boryung, Starburst, and Axiom Space hosted the first ever Care In Space Demo Day & Holiday Party in LA

On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, Boryung, Starburst, and Axiom Space hosted the first ever Care In Space Demo Day & Holiday Party under the Endeavour space shuttle at the California Science Center’s Samuel Oschin Pavilion in Los Angeles.

We were thrilled to toast to the holidays with more than 200 space health, investment, university, and A&D stakeholders from the local LA area and beyond.

In honor of the human flight theme, Demo Day Demo Day represented the culmination of Starburst’s 13-week accelerator program and featured terrific pitches from the six winners of the first annual space health challenge: Advanced TeleSensors, Deep Space Biology, Myelin-H, Nano PharmaSolutions, ViBo Health, and Xtory.

The night also included exceptional keynote and panel discussions with industry leaders including Astronaut Insights: Imagining Human Life in Space from Michael Lopez-Alegria (Chief Astronaut, Axiom Space) and Soyeon Yi (The First Korean Astronaut); Keynote: Developing Pathways for  Human Habitation in Space from Amir Blachman (CIO, Axiom Space); Keynote: Driving Innovation for Interplanetary Human Life from Ariel Ekblaw (Founder & Director, MIT Space Exploration Initiative); and Panel Discussion: Why Invest in Space? with Francois Chopard (CEO, Starburst), Wissam Mansour (Founding Partner & CEO, Neventa Capital), Abdo John Hajj (General Partner, Type One Ventures), and Negin Mokhtari (Senior Associate, Genoa Ventures) moderated by Elizabeth Reynolds (Managing Director, Starburst US).

After the program, guests joined us for festivities, networking, and the opportunity to speak to the presenting companies at their demo booths. Guests who were unable to attend in person joined us virtually.
