Picogrid Historic Corporate Research Partnership

Picogrid, the defence tech company has signed a $500,000 corporate partnership with Cameron University, the largest commercial award in the university’s history. The collaboration will focus on developing military software infrastructure for large-scale autonomous systems and sensor networks on the battlefield.

Most of the research will take place at FISTA, enabling Cameron students to work directly with Picogrid engineers on real-world defense challenges, strengthening both local workforce development and national defense innovation. University and FISTA leadership frame the deal as a proof-of-concept for linking defense startups with regional talent and as a major step in growing Lawton–Fort Sill’s tech ecosystem.
