Throwback to ASD Morning #2
A look back at the second ASD morning organized by Starburst as part of BLAST, the french acceleration program for deep tech startups in aeronautics, space, and defense, led by Starburst, École Polytechnique, and Onera.
Discussions focused on key topics: evolving threats, capability innovation, operational feedback, and moving from idea to impact.
Thank you to our speakers for their contributions:
• François Chopard began by introducing BLAST and its impact on accelerating disruptive technologies, before presenting his vision for the future drivers of defense innovation in Europe.
• Raphael Petrella presented SynerView, a startup that is part of the BLAST #4 cohort, which offers AI software for the diagnosis and monitoring of critical infrastructure. When traditional security analysis comes up against new hybrid threats, SynerView takes over to prevent systems from becoming obsolete.
• Eloi Delort shared the latest advances made by Alta Ares and their ability to iterate in short cycles thanks to field data from Ukraine.
• Éric Autellet then gave an overview of the evolution of threats and their consequences on capability processes.
• Thierry Perard concluded this informative morning by sharing his insights on how ideas translate into impact in the ASD. The key takeaway: the defense sector needs to attract and support innovators, but they must master its codes in order to scale up. Even a good idea requires appropriate support to become useful to the armed forces and profitable over the long term.
👏 And thank you to all the participants for facilitating such valuable discussions this morning. A big thank you to the Agence de l’innovaton de défense for hosting us at its Innovation Defense Lab.
At Starburst, our unique positioning allows us to effectively support startups in order to transform innovation into impact more quickly.
