Trump proposes massive boost to US Defense spending

Donald Trump has called for US military spending to rise to $1.5 trillion by 2027, an increase of more than 50% over the current budget, citing rising threats to global security.

He claims that this increase can be financed by customs revenues and would contribute to the creation of a “dream army.” Trump also criticized major defense contractors for slow production, high executive salaries, and excessive shareholder payouts, warning companies such as Raytheon that failure to invest in new production capacity could cost them government contracts. The announcement comes amid escalating geopolitical tensions involving Russia, Venezuela, China, and Taiwan.
