BattleVerse Launches First Open Call for Defence Simulation Technologies
The EU-funded BattleVerse project has launched its first Open Call, inviting innovative European SMEs and start-ups to contribute to the development of the next generation of defence simulation technologies.
The call targets companies developing solutions that can address emerging needs across AI-enabled decision support, advanced modelling and simulation, and autonomous defence systems.
Three Technology Areas
Selected teams will conduct six-month research experiments focused on one of three key areas:
- AI-enabled decision support – including Machine Learning, LLMs, human-in-the-loop AI, and strategic decision-making
- Advanced modelling & simulation – including MSaaS, Digital Twins, and multi-domain simulation environments
- Autonomous defence systems – including unmanned vehicles, distributed AI, and swarm operations
The objective is to bring innovative technologies into realistic next-generation defence simulation environments and explore their potential through dedicated experimentation.
Funding, Technical Support and Validation
Successful applicants will benefit from financial support, technical coaching, and opportunities to validate their technologies within the BattleVerse innovation ecosystem.
The call offers:
- Up to €60,000 per beneficiary
- Up to €180,000 per experiment
- A 6-month research experiment
The call primarily targets European SMEs and start-ups, while RTOs and academic institutions can participate under specific consortium conditions.
