EUDIS Hackathon 2026: A Major Success in Defence Innovation
The 2026 edition of the EUDIS Hackathon has concluded, and it’s safe to say that it was a resounding success. The event brought together hackers, mentors, and industry leaders to showcase some of the most promising innovations in defence and aerospace technology.
An Exceptional Gathering of Innovators
This year, the hackathon attracted 66 hackers from across Europe, who presented 9 high-level projects tackling key challenges in airspace security and counter-drone technologies. Each project aimed to drive innovation in areas critical to the future of defence.
The event was further enriched by the presence of over 30 top-tier mentors, who provided invaluable guidance to the participants. These mentors were drawn from leading companies and organizations in defence and aerospace, including Thales, MBDA, NEODE Systems, and the Defense Innovation Agency.
The Winners: Pushing the Boundaries of Defence Technology
The hackathon culminated in the announcement of the winning teams, who impressed the judges with their groundbreaking solutions:
🥇 Rubicon: This team took home the top prize for their innovative air defence solution, showcasing cutting-edge technology aimed at enhancing airspace security.
🥈 Soraccel: Awarded second place for their project, which focuses on intelligent air threat management, providing real-time solutions to counter emerging threats.
🥉 Iris Lab: With their advanced drone detection and tracking technology, Iris Lab secured third place for their highly effective approach to mitigating drone-related risks.
