Picogrid Wins $9.3M U.S. Air Force Award to Scale Its Open Integration Layer
Picogrid has secured a $9.3 million U.S. Air Force contract to modernize security operations at select installations, transitioning its Legion software from pilot programs to multi-year operational deployment. Legion provides a unified command-and-control architecture that integrates data from diverse sensors into a common operational picture. By eliminating silos and applying AI-driven analytics, the platform delivers real-time threat awareness and enhanced situational awareness to Security Forces on the ground.
Built on a vendor-agnostic model, Picogrid does not manufacture sensors or weapons. Instead, through its Partner Program of 50+ third-party vendors, the company integrates best-in-class drones, sensors, robotics, and other systems into a flexible, reusable software backbone.
Awarded under SBIR Phase III authority, the contract enables rapid scaling of a solution already validated in pilot programmes, reinforcing the Air Force’s focus on speed, interoperability, and operational readiness.
