Starburst Exhibits Booth & Holds Selection Committee at IAC 2022 in Paris

Starburst is honored to have attended the 73rd International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Paris, France, organized by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) and hosted by Centre National d’Études Spatiales (CNES), from Sunday, September 18 to Thursday, September 22, 2022. This year’s IAC 2022 theme was “Space for All!”– almost 8,500 delegates were in attendance at the Paris Convention Centre throughout the week.

*For all five days of the IAC, Starburst hosted a Booth in the exhibition area. IAC attendees stopped by Booth G12 to meet the global Starburst team and learn more about BLAST, the first French accelerator in the Aeronautics, Space and Defense (ASD) sectors, powered by Starburst. Two of the BLAST Cohort 1 portfolio startups, HyPrSpace and Miratlas, and Agence de l’innovation de défense, were co-exhibitors at the booth.

Many other Starburst portfolio startups were also at the IAC 2022 and were exhibitors… including Launcher, Interstellar Lab, Latitude (ex-Venture Orbital Systems), Prométhée, Sirius  Space Services, Destinus, SpaceLocker  and Constellation Global.

During the IAC 2022 Paris Investors Day on Monday, September 19, 2022, Sandra Budimir (Co-Founder, Partner Europe, Starburst) participated in a Panel discussion organized by Connect by CNES on “Orbital industry: A good place to invest?”.

She was joined by Stella Tkatchova (Programme Manager for Space, European Innovation Council), Adel Haddoud (CEO, Infinite Orbits), Ulf Palmnäs (Founder, Rymdkapital) and Hélène Huby (Co-Founder & CEO, The Exploration Company); the conversation was moderated by Hugo Gonzalez (BASS Programme Manager & NEWSPACE Team Member, CNES).

Budimir announced that Starburst is building Expansion Fund with Rymdkapital and expects a first closing early next year!

Starburst also hosted a European Selection Committee during IAC 2022 Public Day on Wednesday, September 21. More than eighty guests joined this on-site, in-person opportunity to listen to seven aerospace and defense tech startups– ColibrITD, Orbital Machines, Airmo, Vizgard, B2Space, Electric Aviation Group and Hongworks– pitch to be selected to join the Starburst accelerator program.

  • ColibrITD— Platform Software Quantum Computing as a Service
  • Orbital Machines—  Versatile and Low Cost Electric Propellant Pumps
